In cooperation with the Internationaler Studierendenrat (ISR), this summer semester, we would like to offerworkshops for different styles of Latin dances for the international students at Bielefeld University. Having done asemester abroad in the past myself, I learned to appreciate how social dancing and other shared activities createthe opportunity to quickly get to know other people in a foreign country, and we would love to bring this experience to you while having a fun time together and learning something new.
Rueda de Casino is a lively group dance that originated in Cuba and is traditionally danced in a rueda circle with several couples. Based on casino, a style of Cuban Salsa, it combines dynamic partner work, playful interactions,and synchronized group figures that are called out and executed simultaneously by all dancers. Frequent partner changes and energetic movements make Rueda de Casino an exciting and highly social experience. The dance emphasizes musicality, rhythm, and teamwork, creating a fun and engaging atmosphere for dancers of all levels.
