Ablauf meiner "Flamenco" stunde:
1. Aufwärmen + Grundpositionen Flamenco
2. Sevillanas Schritte individual vor dem Spiegel lernen.
3. Basics mit Kastagnetten und Klatschen zum Rhythmus
Sevillanas is a specific style of dance within flamenco, traditionally associated with fairs and festivals in Andalusia. Since it is a folk dance, you don’t need to wear heeled shoes — you can dance just as well in sneakers ;)
This dance consists of four individual dances, which can be performed either alone or in a group. A “Flamenco – Sevillanas” course can cover all four dances over the course of one semester and is the perfect preparation for a stay in Seville!
To design the course, I draw inspiration from “Flamenco Fitness.” This is a variation of flamenco that originated in Spain and is designed for fitness classes: a workout combining flamenco music and flamenco movements.
No knowledge of Spanish? No problem! You will learn the most important words and terms related to the dance during the course.
Structure of my “Flamenco” class:
- Warm-up + basic flamenco positions
- Learn the Sevillanas steps individually in front of the mirror
- Practise the basics with castanets and clapping to the rhythm
- Practise what you have learned with music and with a partner
(Sevillanas does not require a male/female pairing.)
